PAISLEY.PRINCESS

Being vintage sellers we come across that dress occasionally.  Most we love and find hard to let go - but realise we still need to keep the roof over our heads, and can justify letting them go to an appreciative home.
Then there is the mother of all dresses that you see and immediately fall in love.

This is said dress.

When Lara and I met up recently I rifled through all her chests of clothes to remind myself what we had in stock.  My eyes caught sight of the paisley fabric and I knew I found a winner.  I was so determined to wear the thing I put it on that very night without even washing it (eww/cringe) and smirked satisfactorily as I saw furtive coveting glances and whispers of awe.

Being the brains of the business, Lara forbade me to take this to add it to my personal collection.  I demurely agreed with her, then when she wasn't looking snuck it into my suitcase.  The next day I found it back with the other stock.  Then came the OK Corral-like standoff.  My line of reasoning was that this dress was totally me - the colour, print, cut, length, total hotness (last one she didn't agree) and after an emotion-fueled 5 minutes she relented.  Victory.  Totally worth the fight - and humble apologies for those of you who I know would love it just as much as I do - perks of the job!  Enjoy one of the purest reasons we do this - For the Love of Vintage xx
