Last weekend saw The Eclective take place in the Queens theatre, a fabulous old space, warehouse, general spooky-if-it-weren't-so-chic- building. A time when wedding vendors and vintage lovers converge for a weekend filled with inspiration and beauty. In their own words it's "A curated showcase of wedding artisans intent on inspiring and enlightening couples to explore the options of personal expression within their wedding." Wow. What a mouthful!
Opening night saw industry peeps showing their faces and checking out the wares, meeting and greeting, and gearing up for the days that lie ahead. The weekend opened up to the public to showcase just how dreams can come true!
This of course, is not in our hometown of Sydney, but in the city of Churches, Adelaide. Alas we were too cheap to fly over and be a part of it ourselves, however the gorgeous Alysha from Sacred Daisy kindly kept us up to date with what was happening. Alysha spent many an hour collecting vintage props, gowns, and all other bits and bobs to showcase her stunning store. She also kindly showcased also some of our very own creations - vintage crochet dresses!
Lara's handmade magic came to the fore (talented little button that she is) with her own crochet doily dresses. She makes them all by herself - Alysha told us that one lady was quite miffed at what had been done. Sacrilegious she said! Until it was explained that if it hadn't been made into a beautiful piece to wear no one would have appreciated the time and effort that went into making the tatted doilies in the first place!
I was dying when editing some of these images. The class, the grace, the hair! And best of all some of those gowns! It's Vintage Wedded Bliss!
We hope you enjoy the visual feast provided by the lovely Alysha, which you can check out at her Etsy store here. Hair and makeup was also done by the talented Gemma Vendetta. If you are after custom made vintage crochet, check out Lara's store and contact her! Enjoy my lovelies!
