There is something magical about orchids, and flowers in general. One of the many benefits of living in the tropics is that exotic things like fruit and flowers grow like weeds. Sydney has it's beauty, don't get me wrong, but I love going back up to Mum and Dad's in Queensland and picking my own fresh mango off the tree (or starfruit, or bananas) and relishing in the fact that I didn't spend $3,000 a kilo on it. Then there are the amazing array of flowers. Our next door neighbour thinks himself a bit of an orchid connoisseur. I care not. I just love the colours.
